When a snapshot becomes invalid, s->valid is set to 0. In this state, a snapshot can no longer be accessed. 1. s->valid is protected by s->lock. 2. Whenever s->lock is acquired, s->valid must be checked. This patch eliminates some races by ensuring these two rules are followed everywhere. At the same time, some related code is tidied up, removing some levels of indentation and moving snapshot invalidation into a single function that always generates a device-mapper event.
