Gasgano Association and Grouping
- Gasgano associates the products of a pipeline reduction to the corresponding raw frames. Since the reduced frames may have arbitrary names, the association is carried out using the Reduction Blocks (RB). NOTE: File association is typically only used at the telescope, where the RB files are available to perform the association. If there are no RB files or if the paths mentioned in the RBs do not correspond to the paths of the
files in the application, no association can be made, unless the reduced frames contain all necessary keywords to allow the creation of a so-called "Virtual Reduction Block" (see user guide).
Associations are visible in the central panel of the GUI.
-
All components (FITS files, TFITS files, reduction blocks, ASCII files and PAFs) generated by the execution of an Observation Block (OB) and by the corresponding reduction are grouped together according to their Program ID and their Observation ID in a "virtual" directory view.
- raw Fits files are grouped easily since they normally contain the necessary information directly in the header
- reduced Fits files are also grouped as the corresponding raw ones.
- ASCII files and PAFs are grouped as their associated reduced Fits files
If a component cannot be grouped it will be put into the UKNOWN Program ID and UNKNOWN Observation ID.
